USNS Gordon Docked in Baltimore Harbor

USNS Gordon By Jared Russell Strouse

One of the more interesting elements of the Baltimore skyline is the very large US Navy transport ships docked throughout the harbor. The onboard cranes from these ships can be seen from almost any location along the waterfront as these ships are massive. At any time, there are anywhere from one to three of these enormous ships docked along Clinton street.

I believe that you need to always have your head on a swivel and camera ready to capture extraordinary moments when they happen.

For example, I was out for a workout riding my bike around the harbor when an incredible sunset started to form just as I was passing by the bow of USNS Gordon.

This was a tricky shot that not only had to be aligned perfectly but shot through the chain-link fence that kept nosy onlookers like me away from the ships.
